How the Plan Developed
China has expanded numbering capacity mainly through additional mobile and service ranges. Official notifications added the 190, 193 and 196 mobile ranges in 2020. The country uses one official standard time, UTC+8.
Coverage and identity limitation
Area-code coverage follows telephone numbering areas, not necessarily the administrative limits implied by a city name. A mobile prefix does not reliably identify the current operator after portability.
