Example: +92 21 3555 0123
Pakistan uses country calling code +92. Fixed-line numbers use geographic National Destination Codes of two to four digits, normally written with a leading domestic trunk 0. Karachi and Lahore have eight-digit subscriber numbers, while subscriber length varies in other numbering areas. Mobile numbers begin with 3 and are not geographic area codes.
The plus sign represents the international access method used by your phone or network.
Example: +92 21 3555 0123
Example: 021 3555 0123
Domestic trunk or access rule: 0.
Use the leading 0 only in the domestic format. Remove it after +92: 021 becomes +92 21, 042 becomes +92 42 and 05811 becomes +92 5811.
+92 routes a call to Pakistan. A geographic area code then identifies a fixed-line numbering area or range. Do not create a duplicate global “92 area code” page for the same country-code intent.
Use a city page to see the applicable geographic code, format and regional limitations.
Fixed-line national significant numbers contain 9 or 10 digits depending on the area-code length; Karachi and Lahore use 2-digit NDCs with 8-digit subscriber numbers, while mobile numbers contain 10 digits after +92.
A PTA number plan area usually corresponds to a district or grouped districts, not an exact city boundary or a caller’s present location. Mobile, toll-free, universal-access and short-code ranges are non-geographic. Number portability, call forwarding and internet telephony also prevent reliable subscriber or current-carrier identification from an area code. Geographic labels for Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan reproduce the terminology in the official PTA numbering plan and do not resolve territorial-status questions.
